Due to a busy schedule, I chose to visit downtown Pittsburgh several short sessions rather than one full day. My first experiences with downtown were with sports, football games at Heinz Field and a tour of PNC Park. The tour of the baseball stadium offered an insight on how a baseball team has effected the city of Pittsburgh, especially one individual player, Roberto Clemente.

One of the next trips downtown was the quest for the holy grail of sandwiches in Pittsburgh, one from Primanti brothers. Even though the sandwich was very mediocre, I can now say, yes, I have eaten a sandwich in Pittsburgh piled high with coleslaw and fries. The below image is a gem of myself. I guess that's what happens when a sandwich is loaded with tons of low quality toppings!
My next trip downtown is one that I wasn't really looking forward to but rather to gather more information for this blog. To my surprise, there is a lot more things to do downtown then I had originally thought. The cleanliness of the streets and sidewalks surprised me, I have never seen a city so clean! (I am a country boy so I might just be a fool but i don't know). The first thing that caught my attention was the architecture of the large buildings. To me, it was cool.

As i continued walking, I discovered my favorite part of downtown, Point State Park. The combination of all of the green space, fountain, and intersection of rivers was just stunning and brought a smile to my face.

Although I got to experience several aspects of downtown Pittsburgh, I feel my few limited visits are not adequate. There is much more to see.
